Capturing and preserving life stories of all kinds through the written word and recorded oral histories.

What’s your story? I would love to hear it! I believe my passion for life stories is genetic, since I come from a family of storytellers. Family tales told each time my extended clan gets together are comforting and familiar, like a classic rerun of a favorite old show. Some of these anecdotes are sobering, others hilarious and still others border on legendary. All embellishments aside, these family stories have shaped my life, helped me learn where I came from and essentially informed me of who I am.
In 2000 I helped my father write his memoir, “The Team Behind the Barn and Other Memories”. This collection of stories and memories of my dad’s life is a treasure and a wonderful legacy to our family. Since then, I’ve been on a mission to connect and bond generations through life stories and memoirs.
I was born and raised in Waverly, Iowa and received my degree in Journalism from the University of Iowa in 1981. I have worked as a TV news producer, a corporate marketing specialist and a freelance writer, detailing people’s stories in some capacity for nearly 40 years. A few years ago I found my dream job as a personal historian. Today I love listening to and documenting life stories of all kinds. I understand the great value of personal stories and feel privileged to help preserve these matchless treasures, ensuring they will never be lost or forgotten.
